Rhonda Nelson, PT, DPT
CEO
Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist Emeritus
Physical Therapist
Rhonda graduated from Loma Linda University in 1997 with her Master’s in physical therapy and again in 2013 with her Clinical Doctorate in physical therapy and passed her Pediatric Clinical Specialty exam in 2014. She specializes in treating pediatric neurological and developmental diagnoses. She has worked in a wide variety of settings, from the hospital acute setting to outpatient clinic based therapy.
In 2003 she began teaching pediatrics at Loma Linda University in the physical therapy department. She was thrilled to be asked by LLU to travel to Haiti to teach pediatrics in a rehabilitation technician program at H’opital Adventist and returned many times since 2012 to work with students and on behalf of orphans there. Rhonda’s unique work experience and volunteerism led her and her longtime friend and colleague, Shannon Injety, PT, to create WonderLab, a place where children have access to pediatric specific therapy in the Inland Empire.
Since WonderLab’s inception, Rhonda has received the LLU Health Women’s Conference 2016 Honoree Award, the LLU SAHP Distinguished Alumna 2024 Award, and led WonderLab to be Nonprofit of the Year for the city of Loma Linda in 2023.
When not at work, you can find Rhonda exploring art in various forms, working with her beloved doodles, or exploring underwater with her husband and kids.
